multi-agency security team has dismantled a notorious mobile phone theft syndicate in Nairobi, arresting 12 individuals and recovering over 300 stolen devices. The ring, which operated in the Central Business District and major bus termini, used sophisticated signal jammers and swift resale channels. Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) head Mohamed Amin announced that forensic tracking led to the arrests. "We have broken their chain from theft, data wiping, to resale in Eastleigh and other markets," Amin stated. The public is advised to register their devices' IMEI numbers with the Communications Authority for easier tracking.
