Pope Francis experiences a respiratory episode, making his situation even more concerning

The Vatican reports that the 88-year-old Pope's health is complex. He's been hospitalized for an extended period because of a respiratory infection involving multiple microbes. Though hospitalized, the Pope reported no fever and a peaceful night's sleep. Italian media reports indicate that Pope Francis has remained in contact with members of a Gaza parish. The pope went to the hospital at the start of the Jubilee year of the Catholic church, which is a year filled with different papal events. After his morning meetings, he went to Rome's Gemelli Hospital for treatment of his bronchitis. While the Vatican hasn't announced when Pope Francis will be discharged from the hospital, they have canceled his weekly general audience. The Pope has been hospitalized four times in less than four years. Let's pray for him.
