Pope Francis slept well overnight and continues to rest on Thursday morning, as his condition has shown a slight improvement over the past couple of days. The Holy See Press Office said on Thursday morning that Pope Francis slept well and spent the first part of the morning resting.
“The Pope slept well during the night and is now resting,” read a brief statement. It also said that after breakfast, the Holy Father was sitting on his armchair while he was being treated by his doctors. He was told that many conducted mass prayers from country to country for his fast recovery.
The supposed Jubilee audience scheduled for Saturday, March 1, has been canceled. It is good to know that the Pope's health condition has slightly improved over the previous 24 hours. His mild kidney deficiency subsided, and his CT scan showed a normal progression of the lung inflammation. His blood test also showed an improvement. On the evening of Wednesday, Pope Francis no longer experienced any asthma respiratory crises. Pope Francis remains on high-flow oxygen therapy, and as of Wednesday evening, he no longer experienced any asthma-like respiratory crises.
