I have been a book lover throughout my life. I can undoubtedly say that books have been my friends and they have supported me survive through tough times, at times when I was in a foreign land with no friends around. Even now, I would often find my solace reading a book in peace.
World is slowly shifting to a digital platform for all needs. More and more people are moving to digital books ,be it a Kindle version or any similar platform. But I prefer the printed books, the very old school way. I love the smell of the printed words and the subtle sound of flipping pages.
And I love to have my own collection of my favourite books to display and to brag about.
Digital books are advocated to be environment friendly. But I doubt. Digital waste is another threat that is soon going to come as a big problem. And electricity and power consumption is not environment friendly either. Moreover, I don't want another leisure activity to be on screen straining my eyes and impacting my health.
