In a few months time there were 3 kiosks in our street block that sells fried chicken. They sell at a price less than 1 dollar with free rice and softdrink. I tried it and it's really worth the price. It greatly affected our eatery business that's why we are planning of innovating and changing our menu.

It appears that this kind of business venture is very lucrative because I always see people queueing especially lunch time. It's also very manageable because there's only one recipe.

Fried chicken is a very lucrative business to run. Just make sure it is located in a place where people are constantly passing during the day time. You can also add grilled potatoes to create an irresistible combination.

Fried chicken is yummy and very attractive to the eyes. It is being proliferated because people are patronizing the business in droves. Just get your recipe right.
Sometimes even if the taste is not really fantastic they just complement it with sauce and gravy.

The way they prepare it in my place is very tasty. They add tomatoes to parboil it before they start frying. That thing can make you become financially careless.

Tomatoes are good and it's a source of Lycopene which is good for the health. I've never tasted a fried chicken preboiled.in tomato.

I think I read the OP say that they give free rice to go along with the fried chicken. That's a whole high level of cool. Seems rice is a common commodity in that location. Why wouldn't they ditch eateries?
Rice is staple food for Filipinos that is why it's a part of the package. Eateries offer variety of dishes. It's s just that the fried chicken is cheaper than what the eateries offer. Some don't sell fried chicken in our eatery.

Fried chicken kiosks are a popular and thriving business in the province where I live. You can find many of them here, and they seem to be flourishing. I have a favorite fried chicken kiosk near my flat that sells their delicious fried chicken for Php 25 per piece. I particularly enjoy the gravy that comes with it, as it is not too salty. Hehe
