PTP links with increasing revenues every 10 seconds

There are some websites with paid to promote (PTP) links which pay users for every 10 seconds the link is displayed in the browser. Does any know how these websites are benefiting from the PTP link being shown in the browser for a longer time period?

Not sure how it works, but i guess it has to do with traffic, the more people visit the site, the more traffic they get.

The website is paying users based on their IP quality and also the duration for which they remain on the website or use the link. Most ad networks are not considering the duration of the visit.
