R&B artist Trey Songz has been ordered by the court to pay more than $11 million in damages for battery a Maryland Capitol police officer.
Tyrelle Dunn, the officer who filed the lawsuit, alleged he was injured while trying to rescue his wife from Songz's hotel room at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas during the singer's 37th birthday celebration.
The lawsuit claimed that Songz invited a group of women to his room, where Dunn’s wife allegedly screamed for help, saying she was being held against her will. When Dunn intervened, he says he was attacked by Songz and his security team, leaving him with serious injuries, including fractured eye sockets and permanent scarring that caused him to miss work.
