Racism heightened in the UK for Nigerians

British hiring manager has sparked widespread debate after alleging that her boss blocked the employment of a qualified Nigerian candidate solely because of his name. In a video shared on TikTok, the woman recounted how the candidate outperformed others during an interview but was ultimately rejected due to racial bias.


According to her account, the Nigerian man, whose first and lasy name reflected his ethnic identity , had impressed her with his skills and performance during the interview for a role in a firm that serves international clients. Confident in his ability, she brought the recommendation to her superior, expecting approval.

However, she said her boss rejected the suggestion, reportedly stating that the candidate's Nigerian first and last names would be unappealing to American clients. The hiring manager expressed frustration and disappointment over the incident, calling it a clear example of racism
