Rare 14th Century Idol Recovered from Smuggling Ring, Donated to National Museum
New Delhi,December 26, 2025: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) handed over a rare 14th-century bronze idol of Lord Vishnu to the National Museum today. The idol, originating from a temple in Tamil Nadu, was intercepted while being smuggled out of the country via IGI Airport in November. The artifact, of immense historical and artistic value, will undergo conservation before being put on public display in a special exhibition.
