Relatives grabbing property if other family members are away

In case of inherited property in smaller cities and towns, many of the family members may get better opportunities in larger cities, so they do not live in the smaller town or city. In such cases, the relatives remaining may grab the entire property if the other family members are away. What can family members do to ensure that they retain a fair share of the ancestral property, other than living in their share of property periodically?

How can they grab when that property is titled? They can't squat either. They will be penalized. It happened here in our property, somebody claimed it but she did not have proofs and she was jailed.

In some cases, the division of property is not clearly defined , the documents are still in the name of the grandfather who dealt with the original owner of the property.

I get your point, though. There's also the same case like that back in our old place. Our neighbor claimed the property owned by her deceased grandfather, paid the property taxes, and planned to sell it. When her relatives found out, they were angry since the property was still under the name of their grandfather and had not yet been transferred to the heirs, thus giving her no right to sell it without their consent since they owned the property as well.

That's right, it's a big case and the offender will be accused of stealing a titled property.

Land or property grabbing as been a constant thing in some families. The best bet is to sue them. Some people don't know their boundaries

If the property is in your name then no one can snatch it from you. It is illegal if someone grabs it and legal action can be taken against that person.
