Some people bring their items to be repaired and don't come back for those items years after. Should such items be disposed after a long time? Or should it be kept till anytime the owner comes to pick them up?

Yes, that's what a lot of them do. Even seamstress if you don't go for your clothes for a long time they sell off your clothes. So that's the way to go.
On your business invoice, you have to state the maximum duration an item to be repaired can stay in your shop befor being disposed of.
But this doesn't mean one should just quickly sell people's items. You should have had them for years and sure that the owner isn't coming back for them

That is correct. To provide accurate information, include the maximum duration. By doing this, they won’t be able to take it against you
Hey dear, if I tell you expressly that you should get your item within 6 months and you leave it with me beyond that time, I would sell it and we go to court.
That's right sometimes we just have to give the customer time too, so that everyone would be on the same page

My friend owns a shoe repair shop and those shoes being repaired are sold after one year ot no claimant.
Currently we are passing through tough economical times whereby the earning of money is a very difficult especially when you don't have jobs and businesses.
I think that most people dispose their used and defective electronic products at the specialists business venues. Therefore l have seen so many specialists retaining products for more than ten years staying unclaimed for sure.
