Requesting members to reach a particular post count to access some sections of the forum - Makes sense or not?

There are some forum sites that registered members can't access certain sections of the site. To unlock that access, they must reach a certain post count.

Does it make sense to lock out registered members of a forum from some sections of the forum because they don't have a certain post count?

Maybe the forum owner just wants the registered members to be more active and involved in the community with that strategy.

It makes perfect sense, allowing permissions involves trust and trust should be earned not just freely given.

I think it makes sense though, it's just a way to ensure all members are active on the forum. Then again admin knows best

It makes sense. That's because forums want only genuine members to access certain part of their website.

It makes sense of course and the forum site owner as the prerogative of doing it . There are always rules and polices to follow for every forum site .
