Revenge spending is not necessary.

So this guy just came to my street to buy a house. Quickly, they concluded the deal and he paid for the house. After payment, I tried talking to the guy, and he told me he doesn't really need that house.

That he wanted to buy the house to revenge the owner of the house that chased him out of the house when he was broke and couldn't afford to pay rent for that house. He obviously lived there at a time.

Is it necessary? I feel revenge spending is not necessary. What do you think?

It is low self esteem that would make people to do revenge spending. You don't have to spend money unnecessarily to prove anything to anyone.

That person has owned a house anyways. And it is is not bad. It would have been bad if he spent on some frivolous thing as revenge.

At the end of the day, what you consider as unnecessary, might be seen as necessary by the next person.

It is a house he bought. That's real estate. It would have been bad if he bought a designers clothes to show revenge.

You have a point there though, at the end of the day, if he plays his cards right that house would still be very useful to him.
