According to the report, Russia has made a formal allegation that a U.S.-based security company is actively recruiting Filipino citizens, primarily retired military and police personnel, to fight for Ukraine.
The report stated that the Russian Foreign Ministry identified the company as RMS International, which it claimed is based in Florida and offering a monthly salary of around $5,000 (about ₱300,000).
The report said that this claim has been officially denied by multiple parties as fake news and part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
The report added that Malacañang (the presidential palace) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) have dismissed the claim as "fake news," citing information from the Ukrainian Embassy in Manila.
In addition, the embassy has categorically rejected the claim as a "baseless fabrication" and a component of systemic Russian propaganda aimed at discrediting Ukraine and its defense forces. They noted similar false claims were previously circulated about recruitment in South Korea.
