According to the report, Russia expressed openness to discussions on the Ukraine conflict following US President-elect Donald Trump's call for "an immediate ceasefire and negotiations." He also said that Russia was in a weakened state because of Ukraine and its bad economy.
The report said that US President Trump made his remarks a day after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris for their first in-person talks since Trump won the November election. Trump has committed to seeking a negotiated resolution to the conflict.
