Russian Air Base in Syria Attacked as Rubio Warns of New Civil War; EU Lifts Sanctions on Damascus

According to the report, Russia's Khmeimim air base in western Syria is said to have come under a fresh attack by an armed group, as per a war monitor. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that "an armed group affiliated with (the new authorities) launched an attack on the base from a nearby village." It also added that some members managed to infiltrate the runway inside the premises. The UK-based monitor also reported "clashes in which medium and heavy machine guns were used, coinciding with the sounding of alarm sirens from the base."

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that Syria could be weeks away from a fresh civil war of "epic proportions.” He called for support to the transitional leadership of Syria led by Ahmed Al Sharaa. Rubio’s remarks come in the wake of a series of bloody attacks on the Alawite and Druze minorities in Syria.

Hoping to hear no more war to hear. It is so scary, and many innocent people have already died. At least the EU lifted its sanctions for Damascus. May Syria be great again.

According to the US Secretary of State, Syria will face a civil war. Despite sanctions lifted by the USA and EU, but the remnants of the Assads and the newly organized terror group will be the enemies of the new Syrian government.
