According to the latest report, over 200 earthquakes have recently shaken Santorini, triggering high alert on the Greek island. The strongest quake reached a magnitude of 4.6.
The report said that fears of a larger earthquake and potential tsunami have led to Greece sending rescue teams. Schools have been closed, and extra flights are available to help visitors leave.
The report added that Santorini’s seismic activity is linked to tectonic movements, with its history marked by a massive eruption in 1620 BC.
