Saving money as a student: Stay close to campus.

One way that you students have to spend money is transportation to school on a daily basis. A student can save money on that by getting accommodation close to the campus where they don't have to incur any transportation expenses to get to school everyday. It is a smart move for students to save money.

When you look at the cost of having to rent a house near campus and having to pay transport from a cheaper house in the outskirts, it is better financially to rent a house on campus.

That depends on the rent of the house close to the campus. If the rent is cheap, it is a better alternative.

Yes but is not always that simple. I have a friend who schools in abraka, she always complains about how much she spends on tp to school, i bought up the idea of renting a house closer to campus, she refused saying that the houses there are too expensive and even with what they spend on tp in her current house is still reasonable compared to going to houses closer to campus. Though this does not apply to all cases, there are actually some where staying close to campus is way cheaper.

Yes, if your house is near your campus, you’re lucky. You can just walk to class. Some of my classmates took advantage of this during college, since our school was located close to an exclusive subdivision.

Transportation is one of the major expenditure that use to eat deep into the pocket of students. Living close to camp can reduce cost drastically.

If it is even possible, students should try as much as they can to stay on campus. It reduces expenses on utility bills too.

For me this is just Common sense. you have to stay near the campus to save money in diverse ways. Sometimes even food sold in campuses are cheaper
