Guinness World Records has announced that the UPS Store’s ocean-themed float at the New Year’s Rose Parade has set the world record for the largest anatomically correct seahorse.
The centerpiece of the float was a mechanical seahorse, measured and certified by Guinness to measure 28 feet long by 10 feet 1 inch wide by 12 feet 3 inches tall. The giant seahorse’s wire and mechanical structure was covered in orange lentil seeds, corn husks, mushrooms, mushrooms, orange slices and rose petals.
In addition to the record, the UPS Store float also won the Tournament of Roses’ Director of Design Award, proving that it was not only large, but also striking and unique in its design.
