According to the report, South Korea has reported that over 1,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed or wounded while supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine. The casualties come after North Korean troops were deployed to reinforce Russian defences, with heavy losses in recent combat against Ukrainian forces.
The report said that South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) expressed concerns about North Korea’s potential for further deployments and highlighted the risk of escalating military threats. Additionally, intelligence suggests that North Korea is producing self-destructible drones and providing advanced weaponry including 240mm rocket launchers and 170mm self-propelled artillery to Russia.
In parallel, Russia is said to be aiding North Korea’s military with advanced technology. Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed interest in meeting with him as soon as possible, although Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov downplayed the likelihood of an in-person meeting before Trump’s inauguration.
The report added that in a separate development, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico met with Putin to discuss gas transit and the war in Ukraine, while criticizing Ukrainian President Zelensky for his stance on gas transit and sanctions against Russia’s nuclear program.
There are so many casualties and these soldiers died not for the country but for Kim who is brutal to them. They are afraid of Kim than to fight in the war. May their souls rest in peace. In fairness to mighty Putin, the world should let North Korea help Russia. It's been 3 years of his invasion but Ukraine is still a sovereign country. Putin needs all the help he can get.
