I see some people that are in the business of providing services thinking that they can increase prices when they want. Years of practice won't make people pay you more. It is how much your service has improved overtime and clients see that your value has truly increased.
 
Okay what about in a situation where your services has greatly improved and you know it is the right time to increase your price, but there are still some customers arguing with you on the price, how do you handle this.

You carefully thrash those kinds of customers. Customers that would understand your true value would still come around. You don't have to be scared of losing customers that don't understand your value.

That's true. When they see that you are confident and truly have superior services, they would always come back to patronize you.

Thanks, this is what am currently going through. I started my graphics design work charging 2k after picking both free and paid classes and so on i increased to 3k some complained but still pay, i still kept on taking classes and so on, now i charge 5k some are okay with this, some complain. This same work others charge 15k and more. Am thinking of increasing to 7k for now not cause i want to, but the cost of data and fuel is something else, and i am giving them more value, but some still price at a very discouraging rate. I lost a job a few weeks back due to this. The lady refused my price.
 
Customers are always willing to pay more as long as they perceive the value of the products or services has improved.
