When you don't set goals, it's pretty easy to get lost in the day to day tasks and forget why you started your business in the first place. Without clear goals, there's no way to track progress and know if what you're doing is working or not. You can spin your wheels feeling busy without actually moving closer to your vision. Setting goals, even if they're simple at first, helps you stay focused on what really matters - whether that's getting a certain number of customers, launching a new product, or reaching a revenue target. Keeping your eyes on the prize is so important as an entrepreneur, so I'd really encourage folks to take the time to map out some goals before creating a full business plan.

There is a difference between just setting goals for your business and setting goals that are realistic. When you set goals, you have to ensure that that your goals are workable when you set it so that it would not be a waste of time.

This is also one major reason why most businesses fail a short while after startup. They tend to set unrealistic goals and once they are not able to achieve it, the whole business crumbles.
