Apprenticeship and mentoring is one of the things that happen in business. It is a system where knowledge about a particular business is imparted to another through guidance and practical following.

It is often said that for impartation of knowledge to truly occur. One person must clearly assume the lower position while the other assume the higher position.

Is it possible for an entrepreneur to impart skills and knowledge to an apprentice that is 10 years his or her senior? As an entrepreneur, would you accept an apprentice that is 10 years older than you?

The choice is actually based on the said entrepreneurs. There are does who really do not mind, then there are does who might not be comfortable with this, especially when they know they would be sending them on errands and so on.

That's true, i have seen case where older people work under people younger than them and they still give them that respect and things are going well for them.
It depends on the situation, there disadvantages if you accept this but then if the apprentice is ready to learn he or she should be respectful and do the right thing.

While age shouldn't be the main factor in deciding whether or not to take on an apprentice, it is certainly something to consider. There are advantages and disadvantages to having an apprentice who is older than the entrepreneur. On the one hand, an older apprentice may have more experience and maturity, which could be valuable to the business. On the other hand, an older apprentice may be less open to new ideas and less adaptable than a younger apprentice. Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to accept an apprentice should be based on their skills and qualifications, rather than their age. Do you have any specific concerns about working with an older apprentice?

It all boils down to a person being teachable. Some people carry their age on their head and are very proud with it. If it's such a personality, I won't even allow him to be an apprentice to me.
