Should I take business advise from a person who doesn't have a successful business?

They say that people give advices best based on the experiences they have had in a particular thing. Should I be taking business advise from people that have never own a successful business? Do you think such advises would be sound?

I personally think no knowledge is wasted. The person might not have a successful business but he has experience. He can tell you things that made his business fail, mistakes he made so you can avoid them.

I think you can find out what mistakes he has made to lead to the failure of his business. That helps you to alert yourself not to make the same mistake.
