Should we colonize other planets or take better care of our own?

With billions being invested in Mars and space exploration, does it make sense to pursue this while there's so much inequality and destruction here on Earth?

it is our moral obligation to protect the planet we evolved on and care for the environment that sustains us.

I have been watching with sadness the way countries are competing with each other trying to be the first ones to 'discover' planets spending endlessly If that money was spent to improve conditoons here that would b a better choice

The thing is if we can't take care of our planets, even when we colonize other planets, we would still end up making the same mistakes we did here.
