Photography and cinematography are all parts of the media skills. They all probably have to work with a camera. What is the difference between the skill of a photographer and the skill of a cinematographer? What is their specific roles in the media world?

A photographer is mostly based on taking pictures, they have skills in capturing the moment, while cinematography is skilled in making videos.
Some people that are well trained can have the skills of photography and cinematography at the same time. Cinematography is mostly needed in movie and music video shoots.

Yes it depends, but not all are trained for both, most of them simply focus and specialize in one of these areas. Both areas are extremely broad.

Oh, I love this question! A photographer captures a single, perfect moment, like a beautiful frozen whisper. A cinematographer tells a whole story with moving images, painting with light and motion over time. One is a stunning poem, the other a flowing novel. Both are beautiful arts of seeing.

A cinematographer works with a director to capture scenes. They use the special video cameras. The photographers take still pictures.
oh i always wondered what the difference was. so one is for the moving moments in a movie and the other is for the single perfect shot. both jobs are so cool, like telling a story with just light and a camera.
