According to the report, European NH90 helicopters are getting smarter eyes in the sky, thanks to Safran Electronics & Defense’s next-gen technology. It is known as Eurofl’Eye. This advanced Distributed Aperture System (DAS) gives pilots a full 360-degree view of their surroundings, eliminating blind spots and enhancing navigation safety.
The report also stated that it fuses imagery from six wide-field infrared cameras into a real-time, helmet-mounted display, letting crews maintain awareness without diverting attention, and by delivering uninterrupted panoramic vision, Eurofl’Eye helps crews operate in challenging conditions, from night missions to dust and fog.
The report added that the system also supports obstacle detection and self-protection. The system also supports obstacle detection and self-protection, giving pilots the situational awareness needed for rapid, accurate decision-making in high-pressure scenarios.
In addition, the Eurofl’Eye aims to streamline access to crucial operational information, placing vital insights directly in the pilot’s field of vision,” said Alexandre Ziegler, Executive Vice President of Safran’s Defense Business Unit.
