Some customers always feel entitled to special treatment. What really makes them feel so?

There are some customers of businesses that are always feel they should be given special treatment in the way they are served. They demand much beyond the kind of service other customers are getting for the same price.

What are the likely causes that some customers feel entitled to special treatments? How do you handle such customers?
 
We are also customers, and what they feel, we also feel. Being also a customer, I feel that since I am an asset, I need to be entertained by the staff. There are items that we cannot see right away, so we need to ask for assistance, and if the sales lady refuses, that would be disastrous

It's like, some customers just expect to be treated like VIPs all the time, you know? Maybe they've had amazing experiences before, or they think their social media following gives them clout. Whatever it is, it's about figuring out what makes them tick, right?
 
I personally think every customer has the right to feel entitled to special treatment. If that special treatment gives them satisfaction, give it to them
