Mykolas Alekna, a Lithuanian discus thrower who owns an Olympic record in the same sport, has an excellent chance to continue his father Virgilijus's legacy. The 32-year-old secured a second Olympic gold medal in Athens 2004 with a 69.89-meter throw, having previously won in Sydney 2000. Even though Virgilijus secured his family's legacy in the records of history, his son has already outdone his father, breaking the world record held by Jürgen Schult's 74.08-meter throw in 1986 with a throw of 74.35 meters in April.

With how things are going, it's safe to say sports runs in their DNA. That's pretty much every father's dream for their child to carry on from where they stopped.
