Students of the Kwara State University, Malete, narrowly escaped death when an 18-seater commercial bus went up in flames.


The incident occurred along the Sobi Barracks Road, Ilorin, in the early hours of Wednesday, July 16, 2025.


According to eyewitnesses, the students were said to have been on their way to the main campus of the institution from Bovas filling station.


The fire reportedly started midway through the journey, causing panic among passengers.


Fortunately, all passengers were able to evacuate the vehicle safely before the flames spread.
