According to the report, tensions in Sudan are rising again after an assassination attempt on the Sudanese army chief General Abdel Fattal al-Burhan. The Sudan army chief escaped unhurt after a drone attack at the Gibeit army base where he was attending a graduation ceremony.

The report said that the Sudanese army has blamed RSF for the attack. The RSF blamed the strike on infighting within the military. Now, after the attack, the Sudan army chief has ruled out negotiations to bring an end to the deadly civil war.

The report added that on Tuesday, the government had agreed conditionally to join talks in Geneva mediated by the United States and Saudi Arabia.
