The Crans-Montana fire was just awful. People who made it out are talking about how chaotic and scary it was when everything was going down. When I hear their stories, what really sticks with me is how tough people are, how they can keep going even after something so horrible.
I can't even start to imagine how terrified everyone must have been. It breaks my heart to even think about it. One thing that really got me was just how fast the fire moved. It sounds like it went from bad to worse in no time at all.
I think the most important thing we can do now is make sure that safety rules are followed much more closely. Sometimes it feels like things are overlooked until something terrible happens, and that's just not okay. We have to really focus on preventing this sort of thing from happening again.
At the end of the day, we have to learn from this tragedy. We need to figure out what went wrong and what we can do to make sure that something like the Crans-Montana fire never happens again. If we don't learn these lessons, then all of this suffering will have been for nothing. It’s up to all of us to push for changes that will keep our communities safe. We owe it to the people who were affected by the fire, and we owe it to ourselves.
