According to the report, Syrian forces killed the leader of an Islamic State-linked cell and arrested eight members following attacks on security personnel in Idlib and Aleppo, officials said. The cell admitted involvement in three assaults, including one on a road patrol in Maaret al-Numan. The incidents came days after a Palmyra ambush killed two American soldiers and a translator.
