According to the report, the Diet, or Japan's parliament, on Tuesday nominated Sanae Takaichi, president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, as prime minister to succeed Shigeru Ishiba. Takaichi became the first Japanese woman to serve as the country's prime minister. She is set to launch her cabinet in the evening after the attestation ceremonies for the new prime minister and other members of the cabinet.

The report also stated that her election came after the LDP and Nippon Ishin no Kai (Japan Innovation Party) agreed to form a coalition government, following Komeito's departure from the LDP-led ruling bloc earlier this month.

The report added that Takaichi was elected president of the LDP on Oct. 4, following Ishiba's decision in early September to step down in the wake of the party's major setbacks in last year's House of Representatives election and this July's House of Councilors election.

Additionally, in the House of Councilors, the upper chamber, no candidate won a majority in the first round, leading to a runoff election between Takaichi and Yoshihiko Noda, leader of the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan. In the runoff, Takaichi won 125 votes, while Noda received 46.

What great news for Japan and, truly, a historic moment for the world. The election of Sanae Takaichi as Japan's first female prime minister represents a very important step toward political equality in a country where leadership has traditionally been male. I find it admirable that she has managed to get this far despite all the cultural and political challenges it entails.
I also find the alliance between the Liberal Democratic Party and the Japan Innovation Party interesting, as it could mark a shift in the country's political dynamics, especially after recent electoral defeats. I hope Takaichi can seize this opportunity to bring a more modern vision, with policies that boost innovation, the economy, and a more inclusive society. Japan needed a renewal in its leadership, and this could be the beginning of a new era.

It is indeed historic because it is the first time to happen in Japan a Prime Minister a woman. It is also the pride of the Japanese women, That is called Women's Empowerment politics. Maybe this female PM is rich. No one runs in politics poor,
