According to the report, Tesla has released an iOS app for its robotaxi service on Apple’s App Store, with a waitlist now open to the public, AOL reported Wednesday. Robotaxi app now available to all. Download to join waitlist – expanding access soon,” Tesla said in a post on X, adding that an Android version will follow.
The report also stated that individuals interested in acquiring this robotaxi must register with a Tesla account to join the waitlist.
In addition to the report, the app displays maps of service areas in Austin and San Francisco, alongside a carousel of features. A button labeled “Latest news on the service” directs users to Tesla’s robotaxi X account.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced the robotaxi during a launch event in October 2024. The service was first rolled out in Austin in June and then in San Francisco in July. Musk told investors in January that he hoped Tesla would have unsupervised full self-driving vehicles in most countries by the end of next year. He added that this goal could be "limited simply by regulatory issues."
