According to the report, China’s influence is especially pronounced in the military domain. In the past decade, Cambodia has received hundreds of millions of dollars in Chinese military aid, grants, and material support, including armaments, and the direct training of Cambodian troops by Chinese officers. The Chinese-backed modernization of Cambodia’s Ream Naval Base, located strategically on the Gulf of Thailand, signals Beijing’s intent to create a military footprint for China in the lower south side of the South China Sea.

The report said that Cambodia officially denies that the base is for a permanent foreign military presence. Thailand, conversely, wields an extensive fleet of American fighter jets, notably the F-16 Fighting Falcon, in addition to Black Hawk helicopters and NATO-driven logistics, surveillance, and communication technologies. This airpower advantage has already been demonstrated in the ongoing border hostilities, with targeted Thai airstrikes inside Cambodia.


Thailand and Cambodia should talk and find out the cause because the Asian countries should think about whether 3rd parties are the ones pushing both into war and weakening their economy.

If you look critical to the problem, you will notice that the two countries have different masters which is United States and China. These two super powers controls whatever is happening in that region. Am not surprised that China and United States have come to the scene and put a stop to the issue.
