Cyber specialists of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, together with the Ukrainian Cyber Alliance and the BO Team group, carried out a large-scale cyber attack. According to the report, Gaskar Integration Company is one of the main suppliers of drones for the Russian army. As a result of the cyber attack, Ukrainian special services managed not only to penetrate the company's critical infrastructure, but also to cause serious damage to it. More than 47 terabytes of technical information were destroyed, including 10 terabytes of backup copies. The cyberattack caused a complete technological collapse at the enterprise. The company lost access to the Internet, all production and accounting programs stopped working, and the Gaskar Integration development center was completely paralyzed. All entrance doors at the plant were also blocked, forcing workers to leave through emergency exits."Among the stolen data are confidential questionnaires of the company's employees, and most importantly, complete technical documentation on the production of drones, which was transferred to the relevant specialists of the Ukrainian Defense Forces," the intelligence service noted. Throughout Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine and Russia have heavily invested in drone technology, revolutionizing warfare, including drones. Russian forces also launch hundreds of drones nearly every night at Ukraine, targeting civilian areas and critical infrastructure
The report also stated that Russian hackers have regularly targeted various Ukrainian government institutions as well as businesses with crippling cyberattacks aimed at disrupting numerous industries and government services. Chinese companies are playing a vital role in enabling Russia’s drone production, including supplying crucial components for the unmanned aerial vehicles Moscow uses in its nearly daily attacks on Ukraine, Bloomberg reports. According to the news outlet, 92 percent of the foreign parts found in Russian drones are of Chinese origin. These include electronics, cameras, engines, antennas, and navigation modules.“A little-known Russian company thousands of miles away hatched a plan to partner with Chinese firms and solve one of the most urgent challenges faced by the invading army — the need for combat drones that were radically reshaping the battlefield,” Bloomberg writes, citing internal memos from the Russian company Aero-HIT.The documents indicate the company has business ties with Russia’s Defense Ministry and the military. Its drones, packed with Chinese-made components, have ended up on the battlefield and are being used against Ukraine.
