So this customer is very loyal to this service provider. He has never considered another service provider. But somehow, this his favorite service provider travelled and is not around and he patronizes another service provider close by.

Any chance of winning him over given his level of loyalty to the other brand?
 
quite possible to attract that customer to stay on your side if give him better service than is used to on the street. Show hospitality and high professionalism so sees the big difference in value you are giving him now. If you impress with good results and loyalty, will start to think twice about going back to the past. you will capture completely and connect him to your network.
 
It's still possible to win them over, though you need to have it in the back of your mind that it might not be immediately. But there is definitely a chance especially if your services is better and the probably more affordable.
