The US Pacific Air Forces and the Philippine Air Force recently held a bilateral training exercise over the Philippine Sea. According to the Pacific Air Forces, the exercise featured Philippine Air Force A-29 Super Tucanos, Missouri ANG C-130 H2 Hercules aircraft, and A-10 Thunderbolt IIs from the 25th Fighter Squadron flying in formation over the region.
On December 6, A-10 Thunderbolt IIs assigned to the 25th Fighter Squadron arrived at Clark Air Base. The training exercise, which is being carried out in partnership with the Philippine Air Force, will last until December 15th. The United States Pacific Air Forces said that "its Dynamic Force Employment plan improves combined lethality by prioritizing the capacity and capability for major combat operations while staying strategically predictable but operationally unpredictable in a continually changing and contested environment."
Meanwhile, the Philippine Air Force said the exercise intends to increase two-force interoperability, close air support coordination, air-to-ground capacities, and mission incorporation to keep regional peace and stability.
