The remains of two pilots from the ill-fated FA-50 fighter jet incident were brought to Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, Philippines, on Saturday. The Philippine President, Ferdinand Marcos Jr,. could not be present for the memorial ceremony honoring the two airmen, First Lieutenant April John B. Dadulla and Major Jude S. Salang-Oy due to a pressing matter, so Anton Lagdameo, the Special Assistant to the President, represented him instead.
The Philippine Air Force held a tribute for the two pilots on Friday. The FA-50 fighter jet went missing early Tuesday morning while conducting a nighttime operation to support ground troops. It was discovered on Wednesday in a completely destroyed state near Mt. Kalatungan, along with the bodies of the pilots.
