The Super Eagles of Nigeria have defeated the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in their first game of the Africa Cup of Nations

it's victory time for Nigeria as the Super Eagles of Nigeria have defeated the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in their first game of the Africa Cup of Nations. it was the qualifying series at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.


Nigeria's caretaker manager, Austin Eguavoen started with a striking trio of Ademola Lookman, Boniface and Chukwueze leaving star player Victor Osimhen on the bench.


Ademola Lookman broke the deadlock in the first half in a well worked counter attack goal just enforced half time where he had to dribble past three players and slot the ball beyond the goal keeper's reach.


With the Super Eagles raising the tempo of the Uyo stadium after the halftime mark, the crowd gave a rapturous ovation as Osimhen was introduced with 30 minutes to go. Not long after Osimhen extended the lead for the Super Eagles with a wonderful goal.
