Three teenage female suspected kidnappers arrested in Oyo for threatening to abduct woman if she fails to pay N10m

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspected female kidnappers in Ikoyi-Ile, Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, January 9, said the suspects, all teenagers, made a threatening call to one Islamiat Omowumi, a meat seller, demanding human parts and N10m or face dire consequences.

According to the PPRO, the suspects identified as Nurudeen Fathia, 17, Fatai Taiwo,17, Munirat Saliu,16, confessed to the act, claiming that the threat was intended as a prank.

“The Oyo State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public of the successful arrest of suspected kidnappers following a threat report received by the Command, demonstrating its commitment to proactive, intelligence-led, and preventive policing,” the statement.

The news of the three teenage girls arrested in Oyo for threatening to kidnap a woman if she didn't pay N10m strikes me as a worrying reflection of how juvenile delinquency is taking increasingly serious forms. Personally, I believe that even if they claim it was all "a joke," the fact that they demanded money and mentioned human body parts demonstrates an intent that cannot be minimized. What's interesting is that the police acted quickly, demonstrating a preventative approach that kept the situation from escalating. For me, the most relevant aspect is that this case opens a debate about the influence of violence on young people and the need for educational and social programs that steer them away from such behavior. Ultimately, beyond the arrests, what's needed is a collective effort to help teenagers find paths to positive development, not criminality.

So female girls now want to go into the art of kidnapping now? All in the name of trying to make quick money, it is well.
They way the society is going, girls would just do anything for quick money.
