The streets of Tijuana turned into a thriller after the driver of a Jeep Patriot with US license plates refused to stop when ordered to do so by police. Instead, he sped off and launched a high-profile chase through the city center.
The vehicle sped through Zona Río, one of the city’s busiest areas, then through Vía Rápida and Colonia 20 de Noviembre, with officers guarding every corner.
The chase culminated at the San Ysidro border crossing, where the driver attempted to cross the border into the United States. Before he could succeed, he was apprehended and stopped by security officers.
The suspect, identified as Juan ‘N’, was arrested with a weapon and initial reports indicate he may have been under the influence of drugs.
He is now in the custody of the relevant authorities, awaiting legal action that will determine his fate.
