According to the report, Donald Trump signed a record $200B deal for 160 Boeing jets with Qatar Airways and sold American drones to Doha on the second stop of his Gulf tour. After nearly two hours of talks, the US president and Emir Sheikh Tamim hailed a “new level” in ties. Trump also pushed diplomacy with Iran, voiced support for Syria’s new leader, Ahmad al-Sharaa, and defended lifting sanctions to give Damascus “a chance to live.” In a surprise twist, Trump said al-Sharaa, a former jihadist once jailed by the US, was open to joining the Abraham Accords. Trump skipped Israel but said his Middle East outreach was “good for Israel.” Turkey will host follow-up talks on May 15.
