US President Donald Trump, through his family company World Liberty Financial, yesterday March 25, 2025 has launched the WLFI stablecoin with the symbol USD1 which is pegged 1:1 to the USD, and the WLFI Stablecoin will be backed by USD deposits, short-term US securities and other valuables.
The USD1 stablecoin is currently only available on the Ethereum and BSC networks although it will eventually spread to other blockchains. Trump has also partnered with a third-party audit firm to maintain transparency and ensure that asset reserves are always guaranteed. While the BitGo company is the main custodian.
