Trump urges for an immediate truce in Ukraine, where President Volodymyr Zelensky has made a favorable impression. President Donald Trump attended their meeting. Following their talks at the Élysée Palace in Paris, France, President Trump declared an immediate cease-fire in Ukraine. He added that Kyiv seeks "a deal" to resolve the conflict with Russia.

According to President Trump, both Ukraine and Russia have already suffered big losses because of the war, and emphasized that "too many lives are being needlessly wasted, and too many families are being destroyed." He stated that Ukraine has lost approximately 400,000 soldiers and a large number of civilians. President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukraine are eager to find an agreement to end the current hostilities.
