According to the report, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Dec. 23 reiterated that the Kurdish YPG militia has no place in Syria’s future, affirming that terrorist groups such as the PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) and ISIS (Islamic State) would be eliminated.
The report said that Erdogan stated that Turkey’s military operations in northern Syria would continue with "surgical precision" to target these groups while avoiding harm to civilians. He also confirmed ongoing dialogue with Syria’s de facto leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, with Turkish officials visiting Syria to strengthen relations.
The report also stated that Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s unwavering position on Syria’s territorial integrity, condemning Israel’s actions in the Golan Heights and warning Israel that it would eventually have to withdraw.
Meanwhile, US officials suggested that Israel should foster ties with Syria’s new leader Abu Mohammed al-Jolani to strengthen its regional influence, though Israeli officials remain skeptical. The Iranian Foreign Ministry voiced concerns about Israel’s psychological warfare and stressed the importance of upholding Syria’s sovereignty.
In addition to the report, protests erupted in Damascus on Dec. 24 following the burning of a Christmas tree in Suqaylabiyah, with demonstrators demanding the rights of Christians.
End the wars now, and strive so that all the states of the world can live in justice, equity, prosperity, and unity. Many children died in Gaza. Use your wealth to support people to live humanely, not to oppress them. It is so boring now killing happens every day. Why can't this war be stopped?
