Two sisters confirmed d3ad in Yobe boat mishap



Two sisters were among 29 people who d!ed in a boat mishap in Nguru Local Government Area of Yobe State

The incident occurred at about 7:48 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2025 when the canoe carrying 52 passengers capsized while travelling from Adiyani town in Guri Local Government Area of Jigawa State to Garbi town in Nguru LGA, Yobe State.
The victims' uncle, Kyari Garkuwa Nguru, who confirmed the sad news said his sister, the girls' mother, was among those rescued and is currently hospitalised.
The sisters have been laid to rest according to Islamic rite.
