Typhoon Kalmaegi devastates Palawan

Typhoon Kalmaegi left at least 45 dead and forced hundreds of thousands to evacuate in Palawan. For me, the most relevant aspect is the scale of displacement. Personally, I think it’s heartbreaking how families lose everything overnight. What surprises me is the intensity of storms hitting Southeast Asia more frequently. For me, the most important step is stronger disaster preparedness. In the end, I believe Kalmaegi highlights the urgent need for climate resilience in the Philippines.

shocked that Kalmaegi killed forty-five people in Palawan and left thousands homeless. sad to see how this disaster continued to displace more and more citizens without any immediate safety plan.
