Typhoon Usagi has become a super typhoon

Typhoon Ofel, also known as Typhoon Usagi around the world, became a super typhoon early Thursday morning in the Philippines. It has reached Signal Number 5 in the northeastern district of Cagayan. PAGASA reports that wind speeds in areas covered by Signal Number 5 surpass 185 kph. Winds in Signal Number 4 areas are expected to range from 118 kph to 184 kph, leading authorities to encourage inhabitants to be cautious. PAGASA encourages the people to be cautious during this severe weather event.
